While the fastest swimmers in the region raced in the Qld State Short Course Champs in Brisbane, Widebay made sure the future of the region was secure with Junior Skills Camps, being held on the Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg. Here is how it all went on the Sunshine Coast:
Well, we were hoping for sun……praying for sun……pleading for sun…….and we got rain……even though we had the bestest little swimmers with the bestest supporters to enjoy a day of learning new skills in the pool. Thanks to Kawana Aquatic Centre and Kawana Swimming Club for their support and generous help!
The day started with a chit chat…..and then another chit chat……and then ‘name that swimmer’ quiz……then a Maccers morning tea…..thanks Maccers…..followed by Ian Robinson learning the swimmers some racing skills. Thanks Ian! Then another chit chat for supporters and Q&A time.
Lunch was yummie sausage sizzle with heaps of onions and more Maccers donations and then back in the pool for the mini carnival where the swimmers practised their new skills whilst racing.
We truly had a fabulous day! Here is a little all important video and photos!
