Day 3 Finalists

This morning was a great session with all swimmers competing really well.

Finalists:

Jonothan Ritzau is seeded 1st in the men’s 15/16 200m breaststroke final.

Kieran Rodgers seeded 10th into the final of the 17yrs & O 200m Breaststroke final.

Ashlea Sloman is seeded 6th into the girls 13/14 200m backstroke

Nicholas Parchert is seeded 3rd into the Men’s 15/15 50m backstroke finals

Chelsea Babec is seeded 10th into the girls 13/14 yrs 100m Breaststroke.

Kareena Lee is seeded 4th into the women’s 15/16 400m IM.

Relays:

The girls A team of Jess, Chelsea, Cianna and Kareena are seeded 6th into the 200Ind. Medley relay tonight

Boys A team of Jono, Nick, Callum & Ammon are seeded 3rd into the final tonight.

Cianna Thomson swam a PB in a swim off in the 50m free trying for a place as the second visitor in the final. Cianna came a very close second to the NSW swimmer.

Drew and Callun also qualified for the final however they were the 3rd visitor to qualify so cannot swim in the final.

Jessica Hobbin - 3rd 13 & Over 50m Fly; 2nd 13 & Over 100IM

Drew Timbs – 8th 13/14yrs 400 IM 

Kareena Lee – 2nd 15/16yrs 800m Freestyle; 7th 15/16yrs 100m free

Chelsea Babec – 4th 13 & Over 200m Breaststroke

WB AUS men’s 400m relay team A 4th; team B 6th

WB AUS women’s 400m relay team A 6th.

Day 2 from Christchurch

After some awesome swims this morning we have Emily and Drew in one final each. Jess is in two finals and Kareena in three including the 800m freestyle. The two boys relays went through to the final and the A girls relay team. Finals start at 6pm (3pm your time). GO Aussie GO! Thanks to all those sending messages. The swimmers love it!

Session One – Heats

This morning the following swimmers qualified for finals.

Individaul results:

Jess Hobbin in h the 100m Backstroke. Jess is placed 5th into the final.

Kareena Lee in the 200 fly and 400 Free. Kareena is placed 2nd in the 200 fly final and 3rd in teh 400 Free final.

Nick Parchert – Nick is placed 9th into tonights final of the 100m Backstroke.

Emily Marshall – Emily is placed 3rd into tonights 50 Breast final.

Jonothan Ritzua – Jono is placed 5th into tonights 100 breast final.

Drew also placed 3rd visitor in both his events. Well done Drew!

Relays:

WB 15 & under girls relay team of Cianna, Maddie, Kristen & Kareena are into the final tonight.

WB 15 & under boys A relay team of Nick, Jake, Callen & Ammon qualified 3rd fastest for tonights final.

WB 15 U under boys B relay team of Jerram, James, Lachlan & Jack also qualified for the final tonight.

NZ Spring Competition Starts Today

Today is first day of the four day NZ Spring Meet where the Wide Bay Development squad is competing. Watch for live results as the events happen on the Swimming New Zealand website.

NZ 2009 – Update

We are all connected up to the internet now so there will be updates made on the NZ 2009 page of the website. But just to let you know we had a really good trip down the coast picking up the kids and saying goodbye to the parents as we went. Our flight was great, the landing ahead of time so were off to bed by 1am.

This morning saw us off to the QE11 pool for a swim…    keep reading updates on the NZ 2009 page.

JX Clinics – Hervey Bay & Nambour

Information has been sent to each club, via the WB email address, regarding the upcoming JX clinics to be held in Hervey Bay (9-11am) and Nambour (2-4pm) on Sunday 4th October. If you received a shirt in the JX program recently you are eligible to enrol in the program. Be quick places are limited to 40 swimmers at each clinic. Contact admin1@swimming.org.au to register.

Mercantile Relay Fun Fay

Tessa Wallace and the Caloundra Aquatic Lifestyle Centre are running a “Mercantile Relay” fun day on Sunday 4 October 2009 to raise money to help continue Dr June Canavan’s “Klocking up the K’s” for The School of St Jude in Tanzania.
